YOOX Group Eco-Policy

YOOX Group has begun developing and implementing a number of eco-sustainable policies from within the company through ECO-SUSTAINABLE GUIDELINES, a manual that aims to promote good environmental practices among employees by providing daily acts for saving energy and resources. These guidelines for eco-sustainable habits in the office cover four macro areas (paper, water, energy and waste) with the intention of improving the environment through small gestures.

Choosing the right means of transportation plays an important part in an ecological and eco-compatible lifestyle, which is why YOOX Group encourages using trains for work-related travel. With the same logic of optimizing costs and being environmentally responsible when it comes to work-related travel, the company has also implemented telework and teleconferencing (e.g. video conferences, web meetings, etc.).

For employees travelling to and between offices, YOOX Group has activated a car sharing program that allows workers to reserve a spot in a fellow employee's car, a system with benefits in terms of emissions and consumption. All vehicles of the new company car fleet have hybrid engines in order to reduce fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.

YOOX Group also wants to make sure that the paper used in its offices does not contribute to destroying ancient forests but comes from an environmentally and socially responsible source. For this reason YOOX Group has implemented a policy of buying paper made with virgin fiber independently certified as meeting Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) standards, the main system of forest management certification.

Another important action YOOX Group has taken was opting for a renewable energy source for its headquarters in Italy in a partnership with Lifegate, the only provider of this RECS International (Renewable Energy Certificate System) certified service with Zero Impact® on the environment.
