February 2010 giuliano Fujiwara debuts on thecorner.com

Starting from the middle of February, giuliano Fujiwara makes its debut in the e-commerce world on thecorner.com, the virtual space that presents a selection of cutting-edge brands for men and women.
giuliano Fujiwara’s "mini-store" focuses on the Spring/Summer 2010 collection, which is based on defined shapes: the image is strong, definitely masculine, simple yet rich of details, mainly military inspired.
As well as apparel, accessories and footwear, the collection includes a limited edition t-shirt, especially designed by giuliano Fujiwara to launch its news area on thecorner.com.
The white cotton t-shirt is decorated with tiny sketches of geometrical shapes, which seem to flow like on the screen of a video-game and recall the necklaces with cubes and wire from Spring/Summer 2010.
When giuliano Fujiwara passed away, the young Masataka Matsumura became creative director of the half-Italian, half Japanese brand: in the past few years, he stood out as the main author of the brand’s development and new image.
On the occasion of this debut, thecorner.com features an exclusive video-interview to Masataka Matsumura, where he says: "Internet for me doesn't represent the future anymore, it is rather a more and more consistent portion of our current time. For this reason I have chosen thecorner.com for my e-commerce debut because I have recognized in YOOX Group an ideal partner, the perfect interpreter of giuliano Fujiwara’s values and spirit. I particularly appreciate such a dynamic and expanding commercial reality that can mix an international vocation with its Italian nature. I see this is an important quality as I feel a strong personal and professional bond with this country."
This is a unique moment to understand giuliano Fujiwara’s contemporary fashion, which marks the match point between Italian craftsmanship and Japanese design, characterized by a strong rush towards modernity and a new concept of luxury, seen not as mere formalism, but as the search for the detail and the perfect finishing.
Once again, thecorner.com is confirmed as the place where tradition and experimentation meet.

February 2010 Antonio Marras debuts on thecorner.com

Antonio Marras debuts on thecorner.com with an exclusive selection from his artisanal collection “Laboratorio”

The poetry of Antonio Marras’s unique collections debuts online on thecorner.com, the virtual space that presents a selection of artisans and cutting-edge brands for men and women.

Besides the new Spring/Summer 2010 collection, in an exclusive corner dedicated to the Sardinian designer, four unique items from the S/S 2010 artisanal collection “Laboratorio” will be available on sale for the first time.

Creations by Antonio Marras have an exceptional charm as every single item is conceived, studied, and developed in his house-laboratory in Alghero, the birth place of the designer, who for years brought his “made in Italy” collections to the rest of the world. .

The four petticoat dresses, available exclusively on thecorner.com, are unique pieces characterized by the typical artisanal work that distinguish the “Laboratorio” collection, the essence of Antonio Marras’s style.

Created in colours of white, baby blue, dust and blue, the petticoats are made from vintage items that were dismantled, painted and reassembled with remnants of material that no longer exist, with superimpositions of embroidery and non repetitive decoration, splashes of yarn where the sewing machine never repeats the appliqué exactly alike: unique and unparalleled items, like those of old tailors once upon a time.

For the first time ever, the artisanal works by Antonio Marras meets thecorner.com’s virtual space confirming its commitment of presenting craftsmanship and experimentation on the web.
