November 2010 Golden Goose Deluxe Brand creates a capsule collection exclusively for thecorner.com

Starting from the beginning of November, thecorner.com will present an exclusive capsule collection from the Golden Goose Deluxe Brand - a label that has acquired international „cult‟ status over the past decade. The capsule collection was created exclusively for thecorner.com, the virtual space that presents a selection of artisans and cutting-edge brands through dedicated “mini-stores”.

The unisex collection is composed of six exclusive items: two silk scarves, two t-shirts and a special edition of the „Superstar‟ and „Francy‟ sneakers. The capsule collection, which is known as “JOURNERY AROUND THE CORNERS”, is a reflection of the natural relationship between the brand and thecorner.com. The designer‟s concept for these items is characterized by the different elements of travel, an ongoing leitmotif on the collections. Golden Goose Brand was launched by Alessandro and Francesca Gallo in 2000 as a result of their shared passion for the worlds of fashion and art. October 2010 I LOVE USA BY HEDI SLIMANE

thecorner.com announces the second installation in its ‘fashion film’ series - an exclusive chrono-photography video project by groundbreaking designer Hedi Slimane - to debut on 10-10-2010, titled ‘I LOVE USA’ This film follows ‘Portent’, last year’s innovative collaboration with SHOWstudio and visionary photographer Nick Knight.

‘I LOVE USA’ is Slimane’s idealistic vision of the United States through the prism of the idyllic Californian lifestyle. The premise is simple: Sidney and Wolf are two teenagers who meet for the first time in Venice beach. The teens in the film were both scouted by Slimane at the Coachella rock festival, in 2009 and 2010, respectively, they meet for the first time on the set.

The title comes from the nickname Slimane gave to Sidney ‘USA’, who has appeared in many of his diary’s photographs, after he decided that she was the iconic embodiment of the California girl and the aesthetic representation of all-American beauty.

This exclusive video is an improvisation exercise (like ‘Improvisation 1’, with the royal Ballet of Copenhagen) that highlights the naїvety, the innocence of Sidney and Wolf, and features themes that have made the designer famous throughout the world: the representation of a generation, the diaphanous beauty of Sidney, and the very slim silhouette of Wolf project the intimate emotional atmosphere of a couple of teenagers in California.

Sidney improvises a chaotic cheerleader, far from the sweet imagery of cheerleading in American culture, and Wolf is a teen indie transposed in an ‘indie’ representation of ‘Peter and the Wolf’. He accompanies Sidney on his out of tune cello, in a wolf mask. Behind, a fleet-worn American flag belonging to Slimane is visible, a recurring image seen in several of his artistic works.

Hedi Slimane made his design debut at Yves Saint Laurent in 1997. He then, started the brand ‘Dior Homme’, and became creative director from 2000 to 2007. His work has greatly influenced men’s fashion: he launched the fashion of slim and skinny jeans in early 2000 and he continues to reinvents men’s tailoring for a new generation of young men. He is widely imitated in the world and exerts a considerable influence on fashion. His fitted jackets and impeccably cut shirts have become classics in menswear. As an artist, Slimane has also been noted for his photographic talent -- the project 'I LOVE USA' will be included in a soon to be released book and is also the name of an exhibit of Slimane’s work to be held in February 2011 at the Galerie Almine Rech in Paris.

September 2010 LONDON show ROOMS OPENS ITS FIRST ONLINE RETAIL SPACE ON THECORNER.COM

The British Fashion Council (BFC) has announced a collaboration with thecorner.com that will act as the official online retail partner by creating the first exclusive online retail space dedicated to a selection of London’s leading emerging talents from the BFC’s LONDON show ROOMS.

Due to launch in September during London Fashion Week, the virtual space thecorner.com will showcase in a dedicated “mini-store” the Autumn/Winter ’10 women collections from designers Mark Fast (Faster), Mary Katrantzou, Todd Lynn, Michael Lewis London and Christopher Raeburn alongside exclusive content and video interviews about the designers and their creative vision.

LONDON show ROOMS is the international designer showcase and wholesale platform created by the BFC, dedicated to supporting and showcasing leading emerging British designers. September 2010 Z ZEGNA MEETS THECORNER.COM

Z Zegna debuts online on thecorner.com, the virtual space that presents a selection of artisans and cutting-edge brands for men and women through dedicated “mini-stores”.

The DNA of the Italian brand, which made its debut on the New York catwalks three years ago, marks a significant step of its natural evolution: its first online space. “The mini-store represents an important strategic moment for us” – says Alessandro Sartori, Z Zegna Creative Director – “and in this process, the best partner could only have been thecorner.com, because we share values, mission and visions”.

The new mini-store is completely dedicated to the Fall-Winter 2010 collection. Jackets and coats have been first deconstructed and then re-engineered, exposing the technical framework. A real innovative design couture is born: “Techno-Tailoring”. The collection is characterized by graphic soft lines, with a color palette ranging from grays to chocolate brown, from brick red to blue denim.

On the occasion of the launch of the new virtual space, Z Zegna has created an exclusive product for thecorner.com: a slim double-breasted "panel coat” with a deconstructed trompe-l'oeil effect and a double construction made by a mix of different panels and patterns. Pitti Immagine and thecorner.com collaborate on the new edition of Pitti W n.6 and Pitti Uomo 78, which takes place in Florence from June 15th to June 18th 2010. Once again thecorner.com showcases online exclusive video content with the special guests of the events: Haider Ackermann and Jil Sander.

A story of love and fashion captures the mood of summer

First came Tokyo, then London. Now thecorner.com’s fashionable journey through the world’s capitals of style touches down in Los Angeles. In an exclusive collaboration with the innovative British fashion magazine i-D, thecorner.com’s third stop in its global “Styling Around the World” project tells a sensual and romantic tale of young love and high style, featuring many of the cutting-edge brands available on thecorner.com.

 i-D Magazine, the British publication founded by the talented art director Terry Jones, designs an exclusive photo shoot that evokes the essence of Los Angeles’ sensual and laid back style mixed with an European twist. The images, shot on location in Beverly Hills, capture the romantic atmosphere of summertime with photos that show two young people in love, adrift in their emotions, dreamy and passionate like a real couple, as Behati and Jamie are in real life. The evocative images are the work of stylist Pippa Vosper and photographer Kayt Jones, the renowned contributors who have produced some of i-D Magazine’s most celebrated editorials.

Starting from the middle of February, giuliano Fujiwara makes its debut in the e-commerce world on thecorner.com, the virtual space that presents a selection of cutting-edge brands for men and women.  
giuliano Fujiwara’s "mini-store" focuses on the Spring/Summer 2010 collection, which is based on defined shapes: the image is strong, definitely masculine, simple yet rich of details, mainly military inspired.
As well as apparel, accessories and footwear, the collection includes a limited edition t-shirt, especially designed by giuliano Fujiwara to launch its news area on thecorner.com.

Besides the new Spring/Summer 2010 collection, in an exclusive corner dedicated to the Sardinian designer, four unique items from the S/S 2010 artisanal collection “Laboratorio” will be available on sale for the first time.

Creations by Antonio Marras have an exceptional charm as every single item is conceived, studied, and developed in his house-laboratory in Alghero, the birth place of the designer, who for years brought his “made in Italy” collections to the rest of the world. .
