April 2009 - Sustainability, ecological architecture, eco-design and aesthetics. Interni invites visitors of FuoriSalone in Milan to INTERNI DESIGN ENERGIES (April 21-27, 2009, at Milan's Università Statale): an exhibition featuring works by designers from Italy and abroad exploring the theme of renewable energy.
The courtyards of Milan's Università Statale provide an atmospheric backdrop for a series of "islands of repose", small salons with installations designed to capture visitors' attention while inviting them to reflect on the need for a conscientious use of energy for today and for the future.
yoox.com is part of the event with designer Alberto Biagetti's installation representing the YOOXYGEN project, an initiative dedicated to eco-sustainability launched on Earth Day.
The installation is a gold plated sculpture housing natural elements including a feather, a branch and a bone along with video fragments and images alluding to environmental problems.
At the center of this installation is a virtual oracle named "YOOX" with special technology that makes it possible for it to speak with visitors and answer questions in real time, creating brief encounters between the virtual world and the real world on environmental issues.
YOOXYGEN ECOMASKS, special anti-smog masks personalized by Interni, Costume National and Emporio Armani were also distributed at FuoriSalone.
