April 2007 - Anggun was born in Jakarta, Indonesia in 1974. As daughter of a famous singer and producer, her interest in music, dance and singing started at a young age. She recorded her first album of children's songs at the age of 7 and quickly she completely dedicated herself to her passion and became a popular performer in Southeast Asia. She then decided to leave her homeland and conquer Europe; in 1997 she signed her first recording contract for a French label. Her breakthrough album Au nom de la Lune made her instantly popular, and the song Neige au Sahara (the international hit song entitled Snow On The Sahara) won a double Gold Record. Anggun performed it worldwide at venues like the World Music Awards, the MTV Awards and Top of the Pops. Her most recent album Luminescence, in which she sings a duo with the rapper Diam, has been both a critical and popular success. The song Cesse La Pluie was chosen by Luc Besson as the soundtrack to his latest film Le Transporteur 2.
