Claire Danes was born in New York in 1979 and was encouraged to pursue an acting career by her artist parents. She made her debut in the remake of Little Women (1994) and starred in Romeo+Juliet (1996), opposite Leonardo DiCaprio. Her international success alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger in Terminator 3 was followed more recently by Shop Girl (2004) and Stage Beauty (2004) with Billy Crudup and Rupert Everett.
