After a successful debut with Moloko and the period of performing together, in 2005 Roisin Murphy began a personal project.
A mix of musical genres and vocal feats, "Ruby Blue" was her first solo album, created together with the eclectic Matthew Herbert. It was a complete break from her previous work with Moloko: disco-pop, soul and electro-jazz mixed with sound effects for a sensual, cheerful, and sometimes bizarre atmosphere.
The influences of her second album, "Overpowered" range from house to disco to soul. It's a refined mélange with a strong inclination towards electronic beats, and confirms Roisin Murphy as one of today's most talented artists from the electro-pop scene
