Team Ducati

September 2006 - Loris Capirossi was fourteen years old when he rode for the first time at the Italian Sport Production Championships, where he arrived in sixth position on his Honda NS125. In 1989, he reached fourth position and won another four competitions before his debut appearance on the international racing scene. In 1990, at just sixteen years of age, Capirossi received his first world championship title with Honda. After entering the 500 series, he went on to race with Aprilia and then Yamaha. In the year 2000, Loris (once again on a Honda) won the Italian GP. In 2003, Ducati, after more than 30 years of absence from the GP races, offered Loris the opportunity to baptize the newborn Ducati Desmosedici. He continued to ride for the Ducati MotoGP Team for three excellent seasons, achieving important and spectacular results.

Over the last few years, Sete Gibernau has become one of the most successful Spanish pilots of the MotoGP World Championships. He has two Vice World Champion titles behind him and has won nine Grand Prix's. In 2006, this thirty-three year old begins a new stage in his career with the Ducati MotoGP Team. Over the last few seasons, Gibernau (notorious for his fast and aggressive driving), has been defined as Valentino Rossi's only rival.

This thirty-six year old Australian pilot was awarded the Superbike Championship title with Ducati in 2001 and has become a legend for motorcycle fans. After three years of ups and downs at MotoGP, Troy Bayliss (famous for his aggressive and spectacular driving style) returns to the Superbike World Championships with the Ducati Xerox Team. During the Assen season, Bayliss achieved his tenth victory, leading him one step closer to his second Superbike World Championship title.

Lorenzo Lanzi was born in 1981, in Cesena, Italy. He was only fourteen when he made his first appearance at the Italian 125 Championships in 1995. Two years later he won the title and in 1998 went on to the 125 GP races, where he came tenth in Italy and twelfth in Europe. In 2000 he entered the 250 GP series and proved his potential by arriving in seventh place in Italy and ninth in Europe. Lorenzo made his Superbike debut at the end of 2004, when he participated as a wild card rider with the official team of the AMA Superbike Championships in the United States. After a bumpy start in 2005, Lorenzo achieved a few good positions and two sensational victories. He is currently in eighth position as one of the World's Top Racing Riders of 2006.
