    The name YOOX evokes a human touch fused with technology:  X and Y, the male and female chromosomes embrace the zero of the binary code, the fundamental language of this information age.  Its pioneering technology is successfully utilized not only as a medium to create a customer’s unique individual style, but also one that transmits emotions and has built YOOX’s distinctive “Entertailer” nature.

    Founded by the entrepreneurial and creative mind of Ravennate Federico Marchetti, aged 31, YOOX first opened its online doors with the go live of its multi-brand online store yoox.com on June 20th, 2000. 

    A simple idea with far-reaching ambition – to combine the Internet with fashion. As other fashion e-commerce dot.coms disappeared that year, YOOX gained momentum, kick-starting its mission to become “the global Internet retailing partner for the leading fashion & luxury brands” as stated in its initial business plan.  

    By tailoring e-commerce to the fashion and luxury brands YOOX has transformed the luxury fashion industry during the past 15 historic years. Along with the first-born yoox.com, a further two globally applauded multi-brand online stores – thecorner.com and shoescribe.com – and numerous mono-brand online flagship stores for leading fashion & luxury brands complete today’s “Powered by YOOXGroup” reality.  In 2015 a new luxury tech giant was created via a ground-breaking merger between YOOX Group and The Net-A-Porter Group, creating the world’s leading online luxury fashion retailer.
